La Canadiense

2 oz
A blended multi-grain whiskey produced in Canada, containing large percentage of corn spirits. Rye variants are called 'rye whiskey' in canada although they typically contain only small amounts of rye.
1 oz
A young mezcal that has not been aged for more than 2 months.
0.5 oz
A syrup usually made from the xylem sap of sugar maple, red maple, or black maple trees; 67% sugar by mass. Super duper infamous in Canada. Most cocktails that use maple syrup specifically say to get 'A' grade, the downside is $$$$.
1 dash
An aromatic bitters made with apples, try them with whiskey and dark rum drinks.
1 dash
An aromatic bitters made by Fee Brothers. Made with Angostura bark, along with other spices and citrus oils.
1 peel
An orange colored citrus fruit. Many types of orange make an appearance in cocktails. The peel and juice are equally valuable to diverse cocktails.

In a small pitcher, stir together whiskey, mezcal, maple syrup and bitters. Add large orange peel and muddle. Pour over rocks in a double old-fashioned glass. #stir #muddle #ontherocks
