Snake Hips Swizzle

1.5 oz
A brandy produced in the wine-region surrounding Cognac, France. Cognac must be twice distilled and aged for at least two years in French oak.
0.25 oz
A French orange-flavored liqueur made from a blend of cognac, bitter orange essence and sugar. It is used in common cocktails like the Cosmopolitan, Sidecar, Sangria and others.
0.5 oz
A sweet dessert sherry made by adding a sweetener to Oloroso sherry or by blending Oloroso with Pedro Ximénez.
0.5 oz
The most common fruit juice used in cocktails. This citrus juice is about 6% acid; pure citric acid. Lemon juice should be used the day it is squeezed, some like it freshly squeezed and others like it a few hours old.
0.5 oz
A syrup usually made from the xylem sap of sugar maple, red maple, or black maple trees; 67% sugar by mass. Super duper infamous in Canada. Most cocktails that use maple syrup specifically say to get 'A' grade, the downside is $$$$.
1 tsp
A concentrated syrup made from sugar water and cinnamon bark. You can make this yourself by adding a few cinnamon sticks to your simple syrup making process. We always use 1:1 syrup unless otherwise noted in the recipe itself.
2 dash
A concentrated aromatic bitters made in Trinidad from water, ethanol, gentian and other herbs and spices; used in many classic cocktails like the Manhattan.

Dry shake all the ingredients (except the bitters), then dump into a pilsner glass filled with crushed ice. Swizzle the drink until cold. Add the bitters and swizzle them into the top of the drink. Serve with a straw. #build #swizzle #ontherocks
