Also known as Vermouth di Torino, Italian vermouth, rosso and red vermouth; these vermouth have been sweetened with cane sugar or caramelized sugar, usually giving the vermouth 10-15% sugar and a slightly reddish brown color.
2.5 oz
Scotch, is malt whisky or grain whisky made in Scotland. Originally made from malted barley, with the addition of wheat and rye. It must be aged for at least 3 years in oak barrels.
1 dash
A concentrated aromatic bitters made in Trinidad from water, ethanol, gentian and other herbs and spices; used in many classic cocktails like the Manhattan.
1 peel
A yellow citrus fruit. The peel is often used as a garnish while the juice incorporated into the drink for a tart flavor profile (citric acid).

Pour ingredients over ice in a mixing glass and stir for about 30 seconds. Strain into a chilled glass and garnish with a lemon peel. Sub the Angostura for a dash of orange bitters and a dash of Cointreau to get a Green Briar. #stir #straight


The name comes from a Broadway show of the same name. In the Savoy Cocktail Book (1930), the recipe calls for 1:1:1, scotch, sweet and dry vermouth.
