A distilled beverage composed primarily of water and ethanol, sometimes with traces of impurities and flavorings. It can be made from grain, potatoes, rice, beans, beets, fruit or even wood; 40% ABV.

Peat is a dried soil from peatlands, bogs, mires, moors and muskegs. In Scotland, peat fires are used to dry the malted barley, giving the whiskey a smoky flavor.

A major producer of the French liqueur pastis, an anise-flavored liqueur. A successor of Absinthe, it was produced under that moniker until it was banned in france in the early 1900s. Henri Pernod, then focused its efforts on the lower-alcohol, wormwoodless, anise-flavored Pernod.
1 twist
A yellow citrus fruit. The peel is often used as a garnish while the juice incorporated into the drink for a tart flavor profile (citric acid).

Stir with ice and strain into a chilled cocktail glass. Garnish with a lemon twist. #stir #straight
