Wisconsin Brandy Old Fashioned

A primarily after-dinner spirit made from distilling wine. Generally containing 35-60% ABV and generally aged in wooden casks. Cognac is a famous example of a brandy (produced in the Cognac region of France).

Muddle the cherries, orange slice, sugar cube and bitters at the bottom of a shaker tin. Add ice and two or three fingers of Brandy and shake. Strain into a chilled rocks glass over ice. Top with 7-up, seltzer or Jolly Good sour. Garnish with an orange slice and cherry on a spear, fish hook, or Nail. #muddle #shake
The ‘muddle fruit Old-Fashioned’ seems to have come about during prohibition to mask poor quality whiskey. In Wisconsin, this style of Old-Fashioned is the state drink.
