A young mezcal that has not been aged for more than 2 months.
1 oz
A gin liqueur, sometimes made at home, from damson plums. Generally around 22% ABV.
0.75 oz
A rare variety of sherry initially aged to become a fino or amontillado, but inexplicably begins aging oxidatively as an oloroso. Only 1-2% of grapes naturally develop in this manner.
1 dash
A class of bitters that a broadly made from aromatic herbs, spices, fruits and botanicals. This includes Peychuad and Angostura bitters. You can make these at home. There are plenty of recipes online for various bitters, a good book source is 'Bitters' by Brad Parsons. The only down side is they generally require hard-ish to source ingredients.
1 peel
An orange colored citrus fruit. Many types of orange make an appearance in cocktails. The peel and juice are equally valuable to diverse cocktails.

The aromatic flower buds of a tree native to the Maluku Islands in Indonesia. Commonly used as a spice in cooking, but sometimes in cocktails too, apparently.

Stir with ice, then strain into a chilled rocks glass filled with two medium ice spheres. Garnish with an orange twist studded with cloves. #stir #ontherocks
