A japanese liqueur made from steeping plums (ume) with a spirit and sugar. It has a sweet and sour taste and can be served cold or warm. It is commonly called a plum wine but umeshu is a sweetened liqueur.

A colorless eau de vie brandy that has been flavored with or made from yellow plum. You can make it yourself; Google it!

A traditional herbal liqueur made in Europes alpine region by Italy and France, primarily. Made from steeping aromatic flowering plants, said to be similar in taste to absinthe but with added sugar; 38-45% ABV.

A syrup made from dissolving granulated sugar (sucrose) in water. Regular simple is made by combining 1:1 sugar:water by mass, rich simple is 2:1 sugar:water by mass although only 1.5 times as sweet as regular. We always use 1:1 syrup unless otherwise noted in the recipe itself.

A small red or purple rock fruit, related to the peach, used is some cocktails as a garnish or muddled ingredient.

Stir all the ingredients over ice, then strain into a chilled martini glass. Garnish with the plum. #stir #straight
