A high strength (57% ABV) gin distilled in Plymouth, England. It is the strength demanded by the Royal Navy.
2 tsp
A grapefruit liqueur (crème de fruits) made from infusion of pink grapefruit zests. 16% ABV
0.5 tsp
A liqueur distilled from Marasca cherries, that grow along the Dalmatian coast.
0.5 tsp
A liquere made from the leaves and sprigs of douglas firs. You can make this yourself if you live in an area with douglas firs.
5 oz
A carbonated soft drink in which quinine is dissolved, giving an intensly bitter flavor. Originally, tonic was used to fight malaria as the quinine was shown to be effective. However, modern tonic has much less quinine and is really only used for its bitter flavor; please take your malaria pills (and vaccinate your kids).
1 wedge
Small, round, green citrus fruits. Commonly used in many cocktails for its rind or its acidic taste (6% acid total; 4% citric, 2% malic, some succinic acid).

Combine all of the ingredients except the tonic in a collins glass, then fill the glass with ice cubes. Top with the tonic and stir once. Garnish with the lime wedge. #build #ontherocks
