A rum aged in charred oak barrels that lend their color to the rum. If a recipe calls for this rum it is likely refuring to a darker colored rum with a rich and strong yet smooth flavor. Common varieties come from Jamaica and Haiti.
0.75 oz
A French quinquina infused with gentian root, quinine and herbs of the Grand Chartreuse mountains add to a Mistelle base; 16% ABV.
0.5 oz
The 'original' coffee liqueur made in Mexico with rum, sugar, vanilla and Arabica coffee; 20% ABV.
2 dash
A concentrated aromatic bitters made in Trinidad from water, ethanol, gentian and other herbs and spices; used in many classic cocktails like the Manhattan.
2 dash
A bitters made from Seville oranges, cardamom, caraway seed, coriander and burnt sugar.
1 twist
An orange colored citrus fruit. Many types of orange make an appearance in cocktails. The peel and juice are equally valuable to diverse cocktails.

Stir over ice in a mixing glass. Strain into a chilled coupe. Garnish with an orange twist. #stir #straight
